New Coloring Book - Hyper-Spirals

For the last few weeks I have been working on my next coloring book called Hyper-Spirals. The digital version is 22 pages of geometric spiral patterns and a couple of bonus pages from other coloring projects that I'm working on also. Right now it's a printable digital download on Etsy. In the next week or two it will be available as a physical book. So check back often. https://www.etsy.com/listing/802605106/hyper-spirals-22-page-coloring-book-pdf This project kicked my butt. Time to take a day off I think...

Ch 2 Pg 2 has been uploaded!

Sometimes pages just cause me anxiety for no reason. This was one of those. Once the line art was done and the flat tones layed in for the color my brain had a cramp. For 5 days. Finally I said enough with this BS and got it done. Lettered and uploaded to Tapas.

Top Webcomics...

One of the websites that I promote An Alien Adventure on is Top Webcomics. It's a listing service for readers to find new comics to read. There are several genres and an overall monthly vote ranking. The idea is that your reader go there and vote for your comic up to once a day. The more votes you get the higher up the list you can potentially be placed. Also, the higher the ranking the more likely new readers are to click your banner and read your comic.
Please consider voting as it will help grow AAA's reader base.
Thanks,
Bill

Heart Of A Lion - More fantasy based coloring pages

Heart of a Lion
Back before the turn of the century (holy crap does that make me feel old) I did quite a bit more fantasy illustration than comics or sci-fi. I used to travel from art fairs to medieval fairs all around the PNW and sell art and prints. This particular image was, by far, my most popular. It's now available at my Etsy shop as a digital downloadable coloring page for only $1. Print it as many times as you want and color it in as many different ways as your imagination allows. While your there check out the other coloring pages and my coloring book too!
The stippling took almost 40 hours to complete.

New Coloring Pages

I just uploaded a couple of coloring pages to my Etsy store. One based on my webcomic, An Alien Adventure, and an older fantasy dragon that I had originally created for a set of limited edition prints. They are digital downloads and can be printed and colored as many times as you want. https://www.etsy.com/shop/NotOfThisEarthComic

It's been awhile...

I started this blog way back in 2008 as a way to share my creative endeavors. Nothing serious. Then Facebook really took off and it seemed easier to have friends and family see what I was up to on Camano Island. Fast forward 12 years and a lot has happened. I mean a lot. First off I'm back doing comics. This time it's a webcomic that I write and illustrate. As of today 25 pages have been uploaded. The most recent is the first page of chapter 2. You can read it for FREE on Tapas.io  An Alien Adventure  an all ages comic with lots of pop culture references and clean humor.

Hope you enjoy it
Thanks,
Bill

Censorship. It's becoming a way of life.

This is the joke that got me a ban from FB:

Why can't men get mad cow disease?

Because all men are pigs!

It wasn't the whole joke just the punchline. FB labeled it as hate speech.
If you can't laugh or chuckle at that please leave. Now. Just go. GTFO.

That said, censorship of our ideas and counter ideas is happening. The story is that it's for your own good. Offering different opinion on platforms like YouTube, Twitter and Facebook can get you a temporary or permanent ban. It's happening at an alarming rate. Look at posts and videos by doctors stating facts that are counter to the narrative provided by politicians and the media. They've been removed from mainstream sites.
I've said, more than once, a variety of ideas is good. Healthy in fact. If we all thought the same way it would be dangerous. We are like lemmings running towards the cliff.
The key to having differences is that we need to be open to different ideas and compromise. To much of our modern society has an all or nothing mentality. This is bad for us as a whole. Because, everyone is fallible. Not all of your ideas are good. Accept that fact. I've had many "yes, you are correct and I am wrong" discussions in my life. It's not easy sometimes. Well, most of the time it's not. To admit you are wrong is a hit to the ego. If people are willing to be open to new or old ideas, yes, old people are typically wiser and more seasoned than younger people, true growth of our society can happen.
Swallow your pride. Listen. Enjoy the fact that you may have just learned a better truth. One that can help you grow as a person. One that can help you understand the people around you. As we grow older our eyes are opened to the ideas that our parents and elder were right some of the time. But, it's new ideas that keep us progressing forward. The older generations need to remember that things change. Things are changing all the time. What was once good has been replaced by a better idea.
This is a dangerous idea for those that are vying for control, your money and your unconditional compliance in everything.
